# Speed Check

Merchants can now test how fast the Shopvid widget loads on their storefront directly from the Dashboard. Click **Start widget performance test** to run a real browser test — Shopvid opens your live store, measures widget performance, and returns results to the Dashboard.

Three metrics are reported:

* **Widget load time** — Total time for the widget to fully load. Fast: under 1s / Average: 1–3s / Slow: over 3s
* **First render** — When shoppers first see the widget. Fast: under 500ms / Average: 500ms–1s / Slow: over 1s
* **Widget size** — Total size of scripts and assets. Light: under 512 KB / Average: 512 KB–2 MB / Heavy: over 2 MB

> **How to use:** Go to **Dashboard** → find the **Speed check** card → select a **Page to test** → click **Start widget performance test** → view results.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://shopvid.gitbook.io/shopvid-shoppable-video-reels/changelog/speed-check.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
