Learn how to create and manage video widgets in Shopvid. Configure preview displays and control widget settings to showcase shoppable videos on your store.

What is the Manage Widget Feature?

The Manage Widget feature is your control center for creating and customizing video displays on your store. A widget is a container that holds your videos and determines how they appear to customers.

How to Create and Manage Widgets

Creating a New Widget

To create your widget:

1. Navigate to Manage widget in your Shopvid dashboard

2. Click Create new widget

Select widget type

You can choose from 5 of our widget types:

• Highlighted carousel: Display video list as a carousel with a highlighted video in the middle

• Basic carousel: Display video list as a carousel

• Grid: Display videos as rows and columns

• Float: Display video as a float element

• Story: Display video list as stories just like that of social platforms

Select display page

Choose a page you want to display videos:

• Product pages: Appear on product pages but not on other site pages

• Other pages: Appear on all pages except product pages

Adding Videos to Your Widget

Based on your selection of display page, the video setting may differ accordingly.

For Product pages, to add videos of tagged product:

1. In the General tab, click Add products

2. Browse your product or use search to find specific videos

3. Select products by clicking the checkbox

4. Click Done and view added products on the left side of the editor

For Other pages, to add videos from your library:

1. In the General tab, click Video or Browse

2. Browse your video library or use search to find specific videos

3. Select videos by clicking the checkbox on each thumbnail

4. Click Done and view added videos on the left side of the editor

Previewing Your Widget

Always preview your widget before publishing to ensure it looks perfect on all devices.

Managing Widget Status

Control when your widget is visible to customers using the status setting.

1. Locate the Status toggle in General tab

2. Choose your status:

   • Active: Widget can be displayed when added to theme

   • Inactive: Widget is hidden even if added to theme

Widget Display Requirements

For a widget to appear on your store, ensure:

1. Widget status is Active ✓

2. Widget is saved with videos ✓

3. Widget ID is added to theme settings ✓

4. Shopvid app is enabled in theme ✓

If your widget isn't showing, check each requirement in order.
